MSG Singer Records BLACK SABBATH Cover For Upcoming Movie
June 12, 2004MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP (MSG) singer Chris Logan has posted the following message on his web site:
"In April, I performed the vocal tracks for a song that will be featured in a new Sigourney Weaver/Jeff Daniels film, entitled 'Invisible Heroes'. It is directed by Dan Harris, who wrote the screenplay for 'X-Men 3'. The song is an old BLACK SABBATH tune called 'It's Alright'. It's a completely remade cover, and will play as the closing scene of the movie fades to the credits. It is expected to be a fairly major film, so hopefully it will play in a theater near you. It is expected to release sometime toward the end of 2004, so be on the lookout for it!
"Our March 20 show in San Antonio was a blast - thanks to all who came out for that one! We all had a real good, down home Texas time. Can't wait to go back through Texas again. I lived in Austin for 5 years and played all over Texas with OUTLAW CIRCUS back in the day. Which brings me to another noteworthy bit of news:
"There is a new show currently playing on VH1 called 'Metal's 100 Most Memorable Moments', or something like that. At one point, they show a still shot of me singing on stage with OUTLAW CIRCUS. The shot was taken in San Antonio, TX, at a club called Sneakers in 1994. It was the first night we opened for QUIET RIOT. Interestingly enough, that was the night I met Carlos Cavazo... who, when I saw him again in Vegas in 2000, remembered me and introduced me to Mike Varney... who in turn introduced me to Michael Schenker... who in turn introduced me to most of YOU! Interesting how things sort of come full circle in life, huh! So I can finally, honestly say that OUTLAW CIRCUS made it to VH1!! WoooHooo! Pretty funny stuff...
"The MSG shows in Southern California this month were awesome! The audiences were spectacular, and really energized us in a big way. At Brick By Brick in San Diego, the audience was so loud it hurt our ears! Michael commented that it was the loudest he's heard. I could hear them over my own voice in my in-ear monitors... and when that happens, you know they're freakin' LOUD!!! Thanks again to all the fans for making those 3 shows a whole lot of fun! You guys kick some major ass!
"We've got some tentative July dates in Korea being worked out, and hopefully about 6 weeks of shows in the U.S. for later this summer. I'll post more info on all of that as soon as it's available.
"A DVD was shot of our show in Katowice, Poland this past March. It should hit European stores by the end of June. U.S. distribution will come later on, but no word yet as to when, or who will distribute it. I'll keep you all posted on that as well. We got a little sneak preview of a rough-edit while at Wayne's house in San Diego the other night... We're all pretty excited about it. It really rocks hard - I know you're gonna love it!"
